Who we are
Firstpoint VC runs this website. The fund is domiciled in the Netherlands. For any question about your information, write to hi@firstpoint.vc.
This notice covers this website and the pitch form on it. Sites you reach from here, such as LinkedIn, have their own policies.
Visiting the website
When you open a page, your browser sends the details every website receives, such as your IP address, the page requested and your browser type. Vercel, which hosts the website, processes them to deliver the page.
The website runs no analytics, advertising pixels or session-replay tools, and sets no cookies of its own. The cookie policy has the details.
Pitch submissions
“Pitch us” sends your pitch straight to our team. It asks for your name, email address, company and a short message, plus a link to your deck, build or website, a PDF presentation of up to 4 MB, or both.
The website checks the form and passes it directly to Engine, Firstpoint’s private deal-flow system, which stores the submission and the PDF together in a private PostgreSQL database. The website keeps no copy. If delivery fails, its logs record only a technical status, never your details or your file.
Only signed-in members of the Firstpoint team can open the pitch inbox or download a presentation. Presentations are never published at a public address, and sending a pitch does not create an account.
To prevent abuse, the website does not pass your IP address to Engine. It sends a one-way hash of it instead (HMAC-SHA256, keyed with a server secret), which Engine uses together with your email address to accept up to three pitches an hour.
We use your pitch to consider your company for investment and to reply to you.
Other enquiries
For fund materials, press and other enquiries, the website sends and stores nothing. The form assembles your message in your browser and opens it as a draft in your email app, or lets you copy it. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself.
Your email then reaches hi@firstpoint.vc through your email provider and ours, like any other email. Please leave out anything sensitive your enquiry does not need.
Firstpoint Boost applications
The Boost form asks for studio and headquarters details, a contact name and email, development platforms, and a pitch deck as a PDF or a link. When applications are open, we use this information to review your studio for the program and contact you about it.
Live applications go to Engine through the website’s existing pitch delivery system, with the Boost program identified in the submission. After Engine confirms receipt, the website displays your application reference. This confirms receipt, not selection. No automatic acknowledgment email is sent.
Boost uses the same private storage and abuse limits as pitch submissions. The website sends a one-way source hash rather than your IP address to Engine. Program applications do not sign you up for marketing emails.
In local preview mode, your form is validated and a sample receipt is displayed on the page. No application is forwarded to Engine.
Browser storage
The website uses session storage for presentation: fp-intro-curtain-v4 remembers the opening animation and fp-curtain-message picks the next transition message. These values contain no application details, are never sent to us and are cleared when you close the tab. The Boost announcement does not store a value in your browser; its dismissed state lasts only until a full page reload.
Providers and locations
Vercel hosts both this website and Engine. Pages are delivered from Vercel’s global network, usually from a location near you. The server functions that receive a pitch, on the website and in Engine, run in Vercel’s Washington, D.C. region, so your pitch is processed in the United States.
Vercel’s privacy policy explains how Vercel handles the data it processes for us.
How long we keep it
We keep a pitch for as long as we need it to consider your company and for any conversation that follows. The same applies to emails you send us.
You can ask us to delete your pitch or your emails at any time by writing to hi@firstpoint.vc.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Write to hi@firstpoint.vc, ideally from the address you used with us.
Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your data protection authority. When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
